Polly Cat

I couldn't resist making another challenge card today. It fells a bit decadent as I would usually be at work at this time.

Sketch and Stash gave us a sketch to work with and Pollycraft challenge asked us to make a card with a furry animal on it.

The image that I have used is from Pollycrafts Cherry Kisses range and the papers were free with a crafting magazine. I love lace on cards so I had a bit of a dig around in my stash to see what looked good. The theme is almost monotone with splashes of pink to warm it up. I have edged the whole card in black in using an ink pad to finish it off. I'm wishing that I had done the same with the dotty panel too, but ho hum. Too late now lol.
Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday everyone.

Xmas Dimensions

I found Anitas dimension stickers about a month a go. I now have butterflies, Christmas trees, starts and now poinsettias. This card was made for Sketch Saturday who provided us with this sketch.

The background paper is grey parchment and the red and green papers are from Daisy and Dandelions "A winters Tale".

Having seen the DT designs I had too many ideas to play with, but I am pleased with the end result.

Bearly an angel

I few months ago I bought loads of die cut bears. I made quite a lot of cards with them, but the rest have been sitting around doing nothing.

Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge this week was to make a project with wings on it. The wings that I have used were originally a die cut butterfly. I have Aqua brushed using a clear Sakura star dust pen and added a few gems.

I have added a little wire halo as a finishing touch. I don't think that it shows up to well in the pictures. The papers are from the Daisy and Dandelion "A winters tale" paper pack.

1 Card 3 Challenges

I love Penny Black stamps and my collection seems to keep growing. Not sure how.
The design for this card came from the talented team over at Friday Sketchers. They currently have an optional bonus colour challenge, but I couldn't find a good way to get orange and blue onto my card with the options that I have at home.
Over at PBSC our challenge was to make a Christmas card using a Penny Black image or sentiment, my image comes from the "Bubbly" stamp collection.
Stamp something wanted us to make a card with an animal on it. Most of my stamp collection have cute animals on them so the hardest part was which one to use.
The majority of my cards have silver on them and I am scared of pattern, so this card was a personal challenge for me. Maybe I should have called this I card 4 challenges lol.
Hope you are all having a great Bank Holiday weekend
Naomi

2 4 1

This card was made in response to 2 challenges. The actual design came from Sketch Saturday who gave us this design to work with

I love lace on cards and that was the first thing that I thought of when I saw this sketch. The second challenge was from PBSC. For this challenge I had to use a Penny Black image or sentiment and some stitching - hand, machine or faux. Since I don't own a sewing machine I went with the faux option.

I'm very much into monotone, so I stuck to two main colours on this card. I have tried to add depth with the different layers and used brads and gems to add a touch of sparkly lushness.

Red Gold and Cream

I'm so proud of this card, I had to show it off. I made it in response to a challenge over at My Time to Craft. We were given a sketch to follow and having recently bought the Daisy and Dandelion "A winters tale" as part of a goody bag, I knew exactly what I was going to do.
Photography isn't my strong point, so I wasn't able to show the finer details such as the sentiment (which says "Merry Christmas") or the detailing of the decoupage. I have covered the whole of the outside of the card in the deep red paper covered in snowflakes. I might have a go at doing something inside the card as well later.

The ribbon is cream and gold and is from LLB. I've had the flowers for ages so I don't know who made them. I did edge them in gold pen to match in with some of the other elements that I had edged.

Pink Chocolate

This is my last card for the weekend. It is for a challenge over at SSC. We were given a sketch to follow and the challenge was to use some of your latest stash.
The newest addition to my stash was the tree digi stamp which was on a free CD on a magazine. I wish my picture was better so that you could see the details. The pink leaves on the tree are all pink hearts.
I've used lots of chocolaty stuff on this one, including a gorgeous chocolate double satin ribbon.
The paper at the bottom is from Daisy and Dandelion and the one at the top is from HOTP. I edged the white flowers with pink using a whispers brush pen to keep it in with the theme.
This is a late entry as they do a new challenge every other Monday and a new one is due tomorrow.

Summer time hugs

I've been blog surfing again and came across some new (to me) challenge blogs. This is my first entry for Stamp Something. We had to make something that made us think of summer. For me summer is about bright colours, friends and family and looking for the sunshine in everything (no matter what the weather).

I've used the brightest colours I could find in my stash and one of my collection of Penny Black stamps. I've borrowed an idea from someone else and decoupaged the flower.

My favourite nestie this week is labels three. Why my fav??? well it keeps turning up in the cards I have made this week. Last week it was labels four that I kept using.
Take a look at Stamp something when you have the time. Their DT has some brilliant ideas for all levels. There is a new challenge every Friday and you don't need to use a particular brand of stamps.

Purple shades

This is my third challenge card for today. This one is for SCSC. Our challenge was to use corners on our design.

My favourite colour is purple so it turns up on a lot of my creations. This time I decided to see how much purple I could get onto one card. I could have gotten more on there, but I was worried it would look over done.
The papers are from Daisy and Dandelions picnic patch pack. The stamp is penny black and I have used some white angel hair which I have had for ages. I find it hard to cut, but it's no problem with nesties.

Brown metal

Second challenge card for today.

This one is for BBCC This is challenge number 1 for their new challenge blog. We had to create a card for a Dad which included the colour brown and some metal.
I have used two pieces of bark patterned paper. I have had the paper for a while and could never figure out what to do with it. (I bought it a while back).
You can't tell from this shot, but all of the metal parts of the car have been coloured using Sakura stardream pens to give a glitter effect.
This challenge is open till 14th Spetember. Why don't you go on over and take a look.

Chocolate Pennies

My first card for the weekend is a challenge card for PBSC challenge 62. The challenge was to use the colours cream, tan and blue. My biggest problem with this card was which stamp to use. My collection of Penny Black stamps is growing faster than I use them and I just bought another today oops.

The background is Cinnamon coloured textured card. Both of the patterned papers are from Daisy and Dandelion Picnic Patch collection.

I cut the background for the flowers using a Cuttlebug die. The ribbons I used are cream and chocolate and the brads are chocolate brown.

Xmas challenge

I started making Xmas cards a month or so ago. I am a big fan of challenge blogs (as you may be able to tell) so this week I decided to challenge myself. My first challenge was to make a Christmas card only using the traditional colours of red, green and gold . Normally my cards are what I consider to be non traditional in both colour and theme.

When I had finished the card I realised that I didn't have a gold sentiment small enough to fit, so I put the plaque on any way and will have to go shopping (ohhh noooooo) again for something to go there. This one has 3 papers, 2 ribbons and 1 peel off.

For this next one one, I challenged myself to make a Christmas card for a man. I always have trouble coming up with ideas for male cards so this one was a thoughy.

The last card is the sort that I prefer. Its my version of a monotone. The challenge was to stick to one colour and silver. The paper I used is from HOTP and I have had it for years. I'm still working on stash that I bought 5 years ago. I really need to stop shopping for stash, but I can't help it!!

Challenges, candy and more

So there I was innocently munching on cheese on toast, when I found out about this new challenge blog. I wasn't looking for another one, honest, but I love getting in at the start of new sites and watching how they develop so I couldn't resist.

This blog is so new that they haven't even started their first challenge. The first one will start on 15th August and as an added bonus, they are giving away some lovely blog candy. Closing date for the candy is 13th August so click the link to be in with a chance.

Good luck with everything Bizzy Becs. Looking forward to seeing how you challenge us.

Just for men

This is my first male card for what seems like ages. Over at MAWTT challenge 6 is a sketch with the theme - Just for men.

This is a picture of my card closed. I used another of the decoupage that I bought and put together a couple of months ago and a lot of bits and pieces that have been in my stash for a long time.

I actually used a white card blank to make this card. The back piece is the only black part of the card.

Purple Flower Power

I don't know what type of flower these are, but I think they are lovely. I made this card in response to challenge 43 over at SCSC. We were given a sketch to work from and this is what I made.

The decoupage flower is one that I bought an put together a while ago. I also used purple and silver mirror board. I embossed the top layer of mirror board using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and used a length of purple organza ribbon and a length of silver lame ribbon to finish it off.

Lemon and Sage

I have a list of things that I plan to learn how to do at some point in the future and tri-fold cards have been on the list for a while. One of the ladies over at CBC recently started a thread talking about them and I just had to have a go. This is my first attempt.

I have made it for the PBSC challenge 60 - Summer. I have just discovered Anitas dimensional stickers, so I just had to give those a go. They are a lovely addition to a card.

I used lemon and sage coloured textured card which has a nice sheen to it.
